The government has decided to spend 1,5 billion yen on a policy to provide 10 million yen in cash to households (including those living alone) exempted from residence tax from 1 at the end of this month. This is considered an emergency measure to support people nationwide amid the ongoing pandemic and rising prices.

Specific content:
Support 10 man/household (a person living alone is also counted as 1 household) if income is low and does not have to pay city tax.
Additional support of 5 million/child for households with small children, low income and not paying city tax. Regarding the subjects considered low income, not paying city tax will be based on the conditions of each locality.

To check the conditions, people can visit the official website of the place where they live or ask directly at the shiyakusho committee. In addition, the government is also considering a plan in which local governments will independently supplement support money for those in difficulty depending on local circumstances.
This means that a person/household could receive more than 10 man in the coming period.
