SMALL OFFICE IN JAPAN

Small office for rent in Japan

Passersby in Japan will soon see small office booths the size of telephone booths in public places. Rented by the hour, they provide a quiet space with an Internet connection for users to concentrate on typing on their laptops. The office booths are expected to appear in train stations, airports and high-rise buildings. Bloomberg has described it as Japanese-style co-working. Measuring just 1,2 square meters, the Telecube office booth has a seat, a desk, an electrical outlet and soundproof walls. Mitsubishi Estate partners with the manufacturer office furniture Okamura, a provider of V-Cube and Telecube video conferencing software, plans to install 1.000 booths by 2023.

All capsule offices are located inside the ticket gates of the station. When you arrive at the station, you just need to go to the front of the room you have booked, touch the touch screen right outside the room block. The screen will then display a QR code, by scanning it with your phone's camera, the door will be unlocked for you to use.
The desk top is equipped with a monitor with HDMI input and USB port. With comfortable seats, the room is also soundproofed, to avoid outside noise as well as prevent your voice from echoing in the room when talking on the phone. The 3 train stations where the capsule office system is installed are Tokyo, Shinjuku and Shinagawa, which are also the 3 train stations most used by tourists. Therefore, these Station Work offices are not only convenient for workers who want to finish their work while waiting for the train, but also support foreign tourists to have the opportunity to use the network and contact their family or search for information for the next stop.
